EV Charger Installation in Newcastle and the Hunter
Charge at home overnight, or off your own solar during the day. DJM installs home and business EV chargers across Newcastle, Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie, the Hunter Valley and the Central Coast. We’re solar and battery installers as well as Level 2 accredited electricians, so one team looks at your charger, switchboard and solar together.
Level 2 EV Charger or Level 2 Electrician? They’re Different Things
A "Level 2" EV charger is a wall-mounted AC charger: the standard home charger, and far quicker than a power point. A Level 2 electrician is accredited to work on the network side, such as service mains, meters and power poles. Any wall charger needs a licensed electrician; you only need Level 2 work if your supply has to be upgraded. DJM is both, so either way one team handles it.
Slow Charging Times: Standard outlets are inefficient for EVs, causing long charging durations and inconvenience for users.
Electrical Overloads: Improper installation of EV chargers can overload circuits, creating safety hazards and system failures.
Compatibility Concerns: Not all chargers work with every vehicle or electrical setup, leading to inefficiencies or compatibility issues.
Limited Energy Management: Without smart chargers, your energy usage remains inefficient, driving up costs and reducing sustainability.
Uncertified Installations: Non-compliant or uncertified installations can lead to safety hazards and void vehicle warranties.
Lack of Expertise: DIY or inexperienced installations can risk damaging both your vehicle and property, costing more in repairs.
